I am hopeful that with the New Year there will be much new business.  And although it hasn’t been really busy, I have managed to stay very busy be about the Lord’s business and a little artwork as well.  Here is what I have worked on…

My Carleysense site has a new look and I learned a lot about Photoshop during this process.  I have discovered I really like Photoshop.  I can see how I could become a Photoshop junkie if not careful!

I also learned how to hook up my video camera up as a webcam, upload to imovie, edit (just learning that so there is a big learning curve) and post on my site.

I have opened a Zazzle Store and love this site!  I have had, well should I say; God has put on my heart, these great artistic ideas to spread His Word.  I love shirts with a message and I have had great fun creating them.  Check them out and get yours!
Help spread His Word…

Then I got a call from my dear friend Terry…

Asking me to join her and help on another, my 2nd her first…

Once again we were pushed to our limits, worn out, sleep deprived, slightly food deprived (our own fault) and in the end had huge smiles on our faces and pleased that we got to be a part of something so much bigger than ourselves.

And then, the excitement of that whole trip wore down,I had a small job re-doing a fireplace mantel. Of course I was so tired I forgot before pictures, so just enjoy these after picks!

So there you have it!  January almost wrapped up. I’m working on other things and I post them when it’s time! See you back here soon!

God Bless You and Pass it ON!

Diversify!  Diversify!

I have found in our countries economic chaos, that my ability to diversify and more over, my willingness to do so is what actually keeps the wheel rolling.  We are definitely hitting a rocky road, but pulling together with others, finding other outlets for our work and sometimes even doing jobs that just aren’t attractive keep us going.

My dear friend Terri Harris of Harris Arts and I have joined forces to tackle this opportunity together!

She has some of the most awesome ideas for cabinetry and furniture and we are working on creating samples here.

I met with one of my favorite designers yesterday and we have two pieces to put some unique finishes on.  I will keep you up to date on these.  You’ll love them!

I am so excited to work with Terri again.  We have worked together on other jobs over the last few years and not only having we completed the projects in less time, but it has provided an atmosphere for us to learn from each other.  We have different ideas, different areas of expertise, different training and by coming together not only do we have a blast, we also are expanding our own knowledge and abilities.  We keep each other going.  We lift each other up.  We encourage one another!

Recently I have changed my display at the gallery my fine art is in.  I have removed some pieces that just seem to be getting too much attention and distract from the ones that are more relative to the galleries expression.  (Wow, did I just say that like that?)

Here is what the new display looks like.  And for those who can stop by, we are:

We are doing God’s work!

As you can see I am staying busy staying busy.  Oh my I almost forgot.  I am about to launch a new blog site dedicated to the painting, In My Father’s Lap.  I finishing up my testimony and that will be published by the first of next week!  This we be a place to share your story, your testimony and for those who this painting has spoken to, to tell the world what the Lord has shared with you through this painting.  Many have already purchase prints and other items of In My Father’s Lap and the testimony they give is simply amazing and encouraging.  I would them for them to share these stories and this will be a place to do so.  I will be adding a page displaying items for purchase and ministry fundraising ideas.  Watch it grow and bookmark it to come back to and share with those you love!

This is a combination of materials.  Black venetian plaster, Modern Masters metalic silver, silver and hologram foils.  Hey Apple, I can create this for you in your stores!  Hint Hint!

The other project, the Pennseveana Dutch chest finished out beautiful.  I was happy, client was happy, all is well!

Turned out great don’t you think?!

Thanks for checking in and checking out what I am up to.  I just got a call for the go ahead on a textured finish in a Master bedroom.  I am actually going over a previous finish I designed for the client who owned the house before.

This is what is there now…

And this is what we are doing over this.  The texture on the right but in the color on the left.  Two great finishes.  Just sorry I have to go over a beautiful finish with another, but I am so thankful for the work, if you know what I mean!

That’s what is going on in my faux world. (Faux world, yeah, that would be something! LOL)

I finished two new paintings and getting great response, love to hear what you think and if you know someone who might be interested please have them contact me.

Hello everyone.  What a busy month.  Everything is moving right along.  I have my first festival this Saturday!

The Harbour Walk Festival in Georgetown, SC 9-6 on Front Street.  You can’t miss me, uh, oh, should I say Carley!

Ladies shirts in 4 designs, coffee mugs (so cool) and window stickers so you can spread the LOVE!  I can’t wait. Yall come out and enjoy the festival and stop by my booth to say hi and look at Carley’s Stuff!

Meanwhile, I have been working on a few other faux/art jobs.  2 stand out more than any other.

I am repairing a Pennsylvania Dutch Chest for a dear gal locally.  Unfortunately, something very icky spilled on it and literally melted the finish.  Below are the process pictures.  I should be finished with it this week and will post an update.  The colors have taken some time to match, but I think I am finally on to something!  Stay posted to see the end result.

What a ride the last several days have been.  The excitement and anticipation mixed with feelings of nervousness and even fear.

Doing it afraid got it’s test this weekend.  Thanks be to God for the victory!

The Gallery Grand Opening was amazing and I was asked to write the news release.  I enjoyed the challenge and will post a link to it when it is published this week.  I am waiting for pictures of opening night and will post them as well.
