There is definitely a learning curve to taking my own video’s and loaded them.  Ugh!  I have no time to learn!!

However here is one of the projects I am working on.  Perhaps later I learn, for now, I work.

Thank You Lord, thank You for the work!

God Bless You and Enjoy!

PS:  Place comment with any questions or comments about latest project.

The project I posted previously continues on.  The Powder Room and the Dining Room are completed.  Here are some photos!

The Vanity is almost complete, finishing up top coats today.  That is so difficult in a studio that I can’t keep dust free.  Drives me crazy!  But I believe I have finally got it.

Got two more projects at this same home.  Columns and an awesome floor design that Modello Designs helped me with.  Will be finishing up next week so check back to view the rest of the job.

God Bless Ya!  He loves You!

Just landed a wonderful project I am so excited about.  I will keep up up-dated on the progress.  I start Monday!

Here are the samples of the finishes.

This is for the Powder Room.  An aged watermelon tissue.  The vanity, which I don’t have a picture yet is a beautiful corner cabinet and I will be doing a monogram design on the cabinet door.

I didn’t take a great picture of this, bad me, but it’s watermelon venetian highly polished for the Formal Dining Room.

Then this is a three toned venetian, with other secret ingredients, for two large columns entering the Great Room.  It will frame the area magnificently.  The top cap and base cap will be a high gloss black.

I am working with Modello Designs in altering one of their patterns to fit this step which goes into a step down Great Room.  This is so much fun putting this together and the people at Modello Designs are awesome to work with.  I have a habit of altering designs or creating my own to fit an area. They always do a fantastic job.  Here is the pattern and a sneak peek of part of the step.  This will be a challenge to photograph as the step surrounds almost the entire room.  It will be done in a slightly distressed black.

And I am restoring this piece to its original glory.  It will be altered a bit as we don’t have pictures of the top before it was cut.  It was the vanity in the Powder Room.  It is a challenge that I am enjoying working on!

I have also created two other finishes for another upcoming job.  It is so much fun being in the studio and creating again!  As many of you know I have had a very tough year.  Not just economically, but medical issues in my family and tragedy.  I thank our Awesome Lord for giving me wonderful work to help me get back in the game!

Here I am working on those two new finishes and the end product.

Lastly, I finished a project last month which I finished a kitchen island and another awesome cabinet that I got to be creative on.  I was directed by the designer in the look he was after and if I do say so myself, they came out great!  The home is not complete but I will have better photographs when everything is in place!

So yes, I have been trying to stay busy through all the muck.  I appreaciate all the thoughts and prayers sent my family’s way.  My sweet man is having his 4th surgery the first week of November, so please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Prayer works, I am living proof of that!  And I’ll leave you for now with this:

Lord, may I marvel in my creativity the way that You do.

“Most of all, He is the creator.  He created the universe and those who inhabit it; and in creating us, He made us in His own image, so that His personality and capacities are reflected in our minds, bodies and immortal spirits.  So we are, by nature, creators as well.”  Paul M. Johnson

May God Bless and Keep You!

Carla

Learning to move past and grow through the “One Changing Moment” has proved difficult for us all.

I haven’t updated in some time, but I have actually completed a little work and I am working on other projects that I am very excited about. Those will have to be posted later as that particular project is under cover until…

Here is some of the work over the past several months. Contact me or leave comments and I will get back to you!

Extreme Makeover Home Edition

The painting below “In The Light” was done for an auction to raise money for missions.

This Foyer is wonderful too.  My great friends Terri Harris and Mimi Gula helped me during this difficult time while I was with Smokey in MUSC.  I later went and finished with the artwork.

And I recently designed a shirt for a Texas group known as The Southern Stars.

The Ties That Bind

Be back real soon with more work to post!

God Bless You All!

There are longer periods of time between my updates, I didn’t get the memo reporting that working 15-16 hr days at 44 yrs old takes a bigger toll on you than when you were younger!  What happened?  The body doesn’t want to go the way it use too! Who works 9 to 5 now?

St. Francis of Assisi said it best, “Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” I don’t know if he meant it to apply to this situation but I think we could do very well it we would apply it to most all situations!

I have made it to my 6th week with my part-time position at Caledonia and True Blue Golf Courses.

I have a new respect for those who clean commercially.  Wow!  Good thing is I have lost weight!  There really is no bad thing, unless getting up at 4am is bad.  For me, it works.  I just have not figured out how to reschedule all the things I use to do in the morning.  Morning is my best time.

I wanted to share with you some projects I have been working on.

My friend Terry Harris

asked for my help on her project that is in process and here are a few pictures of what we have been working on…

I have been the worker bee helper on this project and she is the creative force behind it. The rooms are going to be beautiful when complete!
We also had the blessing to help with an
Our show should be aired in April and I will make sure I let everyone know that is interested!  It was long hard work with little sleep and tremendous blessing.
I have been working on more tee shirts designs and if you haven’t checked them out, please do so.  I am also going to be changing the shop design.  Just as soon as I have time to sit down and learn how to do it!
Go to Zazzle.com/carlaschuchman to see more designs! Also check out Carleysense for more updates!

I was also blessed to participate with others in a mission trip to India.  I completed a painting that came to me in the middle of the night as I was studying the word.  It is my biggest joy to hear God ask, “Carla?” and for Carla to hear Him and reply, “Yes Lord, here I am.”
Here is the painting and the Community Bible Study in Georgetown SC raised over $4000.00 for their mission trip and seed money for another church building.

The words in the painting say,
“When the darkness tries to get me, there’s a light that just won’t let me”
It is taken from the song “Stand Back Up” by Sugerland.
Listen to it here!

With that I leave you until next time.  Hopefully not to long.  Leave comments, or ask any questions you have.

Diversify!  Diversify!

I have found in our countries economic chaos, that my ability to diversify and more over, my willingness to do so is what actually keeps the wheel rolling.  We are definitely hitting a rocky road, but pulling together with others, finding other outlets for our work and sometimes even doing jobs that just aren’t attractive keep us going.

My dear friend Terri Harris of Harris Arts and I have joined forces to tackle this opportunity together!

She has some of the most awesome ideas for cabinetry and furniture and we are working on creating samples here.

I am so excited to work with Terri again.  We have worked together on other jobs over the last few years and not only having we completed the projects in less time, but it has provided an atmosphere for us to learn from each other.  We have different ideas, different areas of expertise, different training and by coming together not only do we have a blast, we also are expanding our own knowledge and abilities.  We keep each other going.  We lift each other up.  We encourage one another!

Recently I have changed my display at the gallery my fine art is in.  I have removed some pieces that just seem to be getting too much attention and distract from the ones that are more relative to the galleries expression.  (Wow, did I just say that like that?)

Here is what the new display looks like.  And for those who can stop by, we are:

As you can see I am staying busy staying busy.  Oh my I almost forgot.  I am about to launch a new blog site dedicated to the painting, In My Father’s Lap.  I finishing up my testimony and that will be published by the first of next week!  This we be a place to share your story, your testimony and for those who this painting has spoken to, to tell the world what the Lord has shared with you through this painting.  Many have already purchase prints and other items of In My Father’s Lap and the testimony they give is simply amazing and encouraging.  I would them for them to share these stories and this will be a place to do so.  I will be adding a page displaying items for purchase and ministry fundraising ideas.  Watch it grow and bookmark it to come back to and share with those you love!
